Native masks adorn the facade of one of Taxco’s famous shops. Taxco is also the home of the primary silver market where most of Arte Mexico’s silver is mined and crafted. An amazing jewel of a city, built on the side of a mountain in the state of Guerrero, between Mexico City and Acapulco.

The Pyramid of the Sun is a dramatic reminder of the power and grace of this pre-Aztec civilization. Located NE of Mexico City, the 270 steps to the top are worth the climb, offering a spectacular view of the valley below.

Flying into Mexico City, if you are lucky enough to be on the East side of the plane and it’s a clear day, you get your first glimpse of the famous “smoking mountain” Popocatepl. Imposing, dangerous and incredibly beautiful.
