Arte Mexico is owned and operated by Kathy Hallowell and Diane Perez of Wakulla County, Florida. We have been in business since 1998, and are incorporated as: Arte Mexico, LLC. In addition to operating Arte Mexico, LLC, our careers have given us the knowledge and background to better serve you. Kathy is a retired high school Spanish teacher. Diane is an Art teacher and County Arts Coordinator. We share a passion for the culture, traditions and arts and crafts of the Mexican people.

 

Our Philosophy

Arte Mexico operates within the concept of “fair trade” practices to buy regional arts and crafts. Diane and Kathy travel throughout Mexico looking for artisans and artisan families who create unique crafts and who sell their crafts as a means of supporting their families. We buy directly from those artisans whenever possible, and we try to go back to the same communities and the same craftsmen so that they can continue to depend on their art as a means of economic support.
